so being a bit of a vimeo fiend now i've been looking through stuff and seeing what i can find...and then i found this, Miami Horror, another band from OZ with that nice synth electro sound. the single "Sometimes" is great, have a listen, real nice light feel to it. sure to be playing it out over the weekend
i have no idea how i stumbled into her, but i think shes great, kinda reminds me of what goldfrapp used to be, but has more of a subtle dance vibe. the potential to blow up is massive! love the this track "Solid Gold"
But i honestly couldnt care less, Calypso is a belter, and it came out digitally today on Made To Play (who have more fire on the way with new Oliver $ and Renaissance Man EPs). The video is jokes too. Tune of the year im predicting...
the new track by Zinc ft Ms Dynamite, is great...heard it for the first time on Saturday, can't stop listening to it. video's not to bad either, check it out here
so the new Gift Of Gab album came in the other day, and to my silly little knowledge(respect), this is the main guy from Blackalicious, as a kid i was a massive fan of the album "Blazing Arrow", had the best summer track on "Make You Feel That Way"
back to "Escape 2 Mars", its great, its what you'd expect from such a clever writer. catchy and some pure stand out track on there. this guy has one of the most iconic voices in Hip Hop, the second you hear it you know who it is. Stand out tracks being "Rhyme Travel", "Somathapeople" and "Light Years" any old school hip hop fan this is a must have
Uffie is back, new single, similar sound. but for once its all pretty good, normally you'd get a great beat, and she'd do something really bad over the top or vis versa, but this time its spot on! just a great fun track. its been ages since "ready to uff" came out, and then re releasing "pop the glock", crowd fave, but not one of mine, it just seemed that she'd dried up... but don't worry, she hasnt! check out "MCs Can Kiss"
so this is the new single fromNEW YOUNG PONY CLUB, its been a while, fuck its been years! this is their new single "chaos", its catchy, its not really a mild of the night tune, like "ice cream" but its defo go a good night build up feel to it
Widower rocked Dark Party a while back, and happen to be blessed by having DPs' own MillsBomb as their beat machine. Anyway, this remix is unreal and has got "anthem" written all over it. I know ill be rinsing it at the next Dark Party, and probably every set i play. With some next level 80's synth action, and a back arching guitar solo it is SO catchy.
Enjoy getting bombarded with it by every DP DJ this year...
Jack, jack, jack, jack your body! Big remix of the new GA tune (that John posted below) from future house pioneers Zombie Disco Squad. I play at least one of their tunes in more or less every set i play, so you have heard of them already.
we were in the office one day, and this was found, i've been hiding this for to long, i just have to share! what have you always wanted? well i've always wanted a great ape themed surf pop band, and now i have one THE KONGSMEN. fronted by Nat KingKong, they are currently the only thing i've been able to listen too. a band for everyone, "I love every ape I see from Chimpan-a to Chimpan-z"
the new album is out, a bit of a pain to buy, but WELL worth every Euro
so everyones writing about them, so i thought i'd join in! even though i feel massively cheated! first heard these guy a few years back when they used to trade under the name The Muslims...as you can imagine a few people werent into this. so they changed their name, but not their sound. now The Soft Pack, but they're still punk rock with a nice pop sensibility, really catchy and fun. the new single "answer to yourself" shows that pretty well. defo check out both albums, and try and see them when they're over this month
So, you roll into Dark Party about 11:00pm with a little bit of dancing juice inside you. You head towards the bar, but your ears are drawn towards the floor. You look up and ask yourself "who is that pint sized disco machine behind the decks?", the answer is MILLSBOMB!
Check out his fresh new mix filled with pop, indie, disco and electro vibes and discover some of the tunes that have been making your booty shake violently on the last saturday of every month.

I saw this guy by accident last night at Miike Snow (he was supporting) and he totally smashed it. I've know about him for a while, but never checked him out, which now annoys me because its a really refreshing and different sound. Imagine Morrissey spitting bars over Chromeo-esq bumpy house/ funk. Just him skanking on stage with a DJ, it was poppin'. Well good. Miike Snow weren't too shabby either, in-fact they were fantastic, their album (which is very underrated) really cant do them justice. They simply sounded HUGE.
Just a couple of bits. I have not been able to get down and dj for ages as i have been mad busy with my life and other djing and well i feel bad. So here are two free downloads for you (and sort of exclusives). One old, one new. I hope you enjoy them. Smith B-More Forward - The Count Of Monte Cristal (SMITH TROPICAL EDIT) by Alexandersmith
i just stick on the Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, the track is called "Alyo" puts a massive smile on my face, and makes me wanna just shout "AAAAHHHHLLLLYYYYYOOOOOOO!!!!"
DARK PARTY is originally a Saturday club night in Luton, playing whatevers fun to dance too /new indie/electo/alt/dub
