So... the new Justice single is out, and I don't understand why people aren't going crazy?! It sounds just like Justice, and people still like justice right? So where's the problem?
Yesterday this lovely split dropped, and it's great! Both Toro Y Moi and Cloud Nothings are great, although Cloud Nothings for me are winning the race.
We're so proud to let you know about this! From our boy CraigYourSkull, now CraigZooLook, with a little help from his friends. Keep an eye on their site, HERE. Big movements are happening.
Having seen these guys a few times, I know they're good, fuck, one of them was in one of my all time fave bands! The Cave Singers bring this simple Country Blues sound to the table, and what a great sound it is. The new album "No Witch" is just stunning, much better than I expected. Here's a few tunes for you to "right click" on. Enjoy.
Always loved this kid, even though hes not a kid... Dan Sartain has been a big part of my life for over 10 years, and I'll hear nothing bad said about him! Click HERE to go check out "Fuck Friday, Fuck Saturday, Fuck Sunday" and below are 2 other tracks from the new album "FUCK".
It reminds me of last summer, when I was lucky enough to catch Local Natives do an acoustic gig in Hoxton Square. I cycled down after work, on the 1's and just sat there and waited. They set up infont of me (and about 100 other people) and just played. It was amazing, and seeing one of your favourite bands perform in that kind of environment is quite special.
I came across this live performance they did for LaBlogotheque. This youtube channel is simply amazing, worth bookmarking. It just reminded me how great Local Natives are, vocaly untouchable.
Evil Nine, from Brighton are about to release "It's You" and its fucking amazing! i can't find it anywhere, and i'm not gonna be that guy that puts it up first, so heres a great mix they did about a month ago, enjoy
this is totally what i expected from FF, although of all the "singles" they've released in the past year this is by far the weakest. what do you think?
here are the other bits
(ignore the stupid video, it was the only full version i could find)
and then this
(i know its a cover, but it was still a release)
personally both those tracks are better than the new single, but neither were pushed, i guess just so they could feel their new sound? who knows, but it'll be interesting to hear the new record
i don't know why i haven't written anything about Girl Names before, i think they're awesome! real dead low end vocaled surf guitar, defo ones to watch!
massive fan of both We Are Enfant Terrible and The Shoes, so i had nothing the fear when i saw this in my inbox. great little electro remix, solid party vibe to it as well
hey all just a quick update this week has been amazing, seen something in the region of 28 bands, full report coming later in the week, keep an eye out for...

i've had my eye on Classixx for a while, they fit with what i like about this new electronic 80s rip off chicago house movement, its great, fun little track
So, John is in a desert somewhere in America walking around watching bands no one has heard of, discussing beard growth and partying with cool people (not jealous at all). This means the blog has been let loose on an un-cool musical simpleton, without a beard... though I am ginger, so it's not that bad.
Peep this little rude boy track from Joy Orbison, or as he likes to now be called "Joy O". A ground breaking transformation I hear you say? Inspired, no doubt, by the era Prince turned himself into a symbol.
Anyway, this track is killer, and no doubt will make A list on radio one and have lads on tour requesting it in every Yates in the UK and shouting "UMM" and downing a pint of snakebite or whatever they do. Maybe a Jaeger bomb.
Great video for the latest Aloe Blacc tune. I quite like it when artists alter the album version for the single, this version is a bit more up beat with harder hitting horns. I may have to pull out some of those moves myself...
What a fantastic weekend. A visit to Panorama Bar and Horst, seeing Surfer Blood live again and basically partying at the German version of Dark Party, it was uncanny. If only John looked like Paul Weller and brought a tamborine with him when he played.
Personal highlight, Steffis latest track getting dropped in it's true home. Very memorable...
i'm off on holiday, i'll be back in 2 weeks, due to the other guys blogging about once a month, don't expect much i'll do my best in keeping things up to date when i can
apologies, normal service will return wednesday 23rd march
I forgot to post this a while ago. Sometimes I play music to the "masses", and now more than ever slip into conversations that I'm a "DJ". Below is my latest mix, it's my favourite to date and gives a feel of the stuff I'm really into at the moment.
Another thrilling story; I'm a Graphic Designer by trade and was assisting on a shoot in Northampton (glamour) the other day. I got a lift out of London from the photographer, and he was banging out some Bowie, what a dude.
I don't know much about Odd Future, but they are making movements in a big way state side, so I'm guessing it's only a matter of time before people are bigging them up here...
Here is a track from Tyler The Creator, from the crew. Dark. Have a look on YouTube at some of their live videos, they look like Hardcore shows.
DARK PARTY is originally a Saturday club night in Luton, playing whatevers fun to dance too /new indie/electo/alt/dub
we came out of the ass end of ssshhhh!!!who, in its short life managed to pull off parties in office blocks, and disused hair dressers. putting on Tiger Force, CockNBullKidand T3ETH
