I have been into John Talabot for a while, but I purchased his new album fIN last week and it has been on repeat ever since. Really looking forward to seeing his live performance at Optimus Primavera Sound in the summer. Below is my personal highlight from the album...
Sorry this is abit late, there doesn't seem to be any free wifi in Paris, but here's our latest DPR with lots of cool French tunes at the end! Here are also some cool blogs that helped us loads find where to party! Parisite and Paris : indie travel guide , we'd say hit Le Mars to start with!
Stumbled across Best Friends the other week, and i bloody love them! The EP is one of those BandCamp name your price jobs, so give what you can! Stand out for me is Surf Bitches, just purely for the line "love is a wave and i wanna ride it", lovely
One of DP calling card tracks has to be Real Life by Tanlines, and we've been waiting for the album to drop for ages! And its now finally here! Above is the new single, and the video was made by Julian Barratt, from the Mighty Boosh
We don't cover as much art based stuff as we'd like, but when we heard about this we just had to share with you guys! Infinite Kusama is a 1 day FREE performance / art / talks / tour and workshops event being held at the Tate Modern on Saturday 24th March.
The 2 main features of this is, 1, a Silent Disco in the Turbine hall with DJ sets from Actress / Lapalux / Koreless. And, 2, The Hello Cub, which is an instillation that reacts to both social media and physical activity. If you tweet it, @TheHelloCube, "next red sparkles" it'll set of a sparkling red pattern in the cube and then send you a twitpic!? How cool is that?!
It's only on for the 1 day, and it all kicks off at 1pm, so this is not to be missed!
Only just got on to Hooded Fang via the new album Tosta Mista. It's a bloody noisy crazy mess of all sounds stringed, drummed and electroniced (sp?). Check out the tracks below, allow your mind to be blown
I've been in love with The Golden Filter ever since i heard "Solid Gold" and the new sound they've come back with is equally as stunning. Its minimal, alot darker, and with so much more subtle undertones in sound, just a beautiful song
I know we posted this song ages ago, and you probably already knew about the video with out us posting it here... BUT School of Seven Bells has just done a remix, so we thought we'd get away with posting both! We do love A Place To Bury Strangers, they played Luton once don't you know...
And here are the UK dates, go see them, but take ear plugs
May 8th - London, Cargo May 9th - Birmingham, Hare & Hounds May 10th - Manchester, Sound Control May 11th - Glasgow, King Tuts May 12th - Newcastle, Cluny May 13th - Leeds, Cockpit
New to me, and probably new to you, but Portasound are bloody amazing! The video above could get pulled down, so below is the soundcloud link too. Think electronic sound tracking from the 80s but in the future
So here we are, week number 5, we've been in just over a month, and i'm slowly losing my mind whilst DJing on the radio, its funny shit! Not that i can say shit on the radio, but you can tell i want too... enjoy
